Amazing How Simple Words Could Increase Your Business By More Than 100%
The words still echo in my head “Husni, if you want to be in business, you got to have this book – find it, learn it and do it”. Those were the word uttered by my Prof. way back in 1990 when I was still studying in IU, Bloomington. I tried to search for few years, but I couldn’t find it and somehow rather forgot about it.
But last month, I found it. They’re selling it on the internet. The moment I saw it, I was very excited. I didn’t even read the sales copy, I just clicked on the payment button – just imagine 17 years of waiting and finally you found it, how would you feel? I don’t know about you, but I felt the adrenaline rushing through my veins.
So I bought it, read it and now applying it to my businesses. Amazing how a book written in 1930’s still relevant in our era. I guess, for as long as human has emotion, this book is relevant.
One of the technique that I apply to my hotel business (http://www.serimalaysiakulim.com) is that instead of the receptionist asking the guest “You want standard room or family room sir?”, she ask “Family room sir?”. You know 7 out of 10 just said yes. That’s an increase of few hundred Malaysian Ringgit to my revenue. That’s just one technique. There are a lot more that will definitely improve your revenue.

Something that might interest you …
Yesterday, I finished up reading “Who moved my cheese?” just in one shot. It’s a fascinating book. Simple to read and easy to absorb. I guest almost everybody has read the book. Anyway, the book talks about change. How certain people resist changes and how some adopt fast to changes. I think you better buy and read it, it’s a good book.
By the way, I’m not going to talk about the book, it’s just an introduction. What I’m going to talk about is change. Why do some people hate change? I really am currious. I think that shouldn’t be the case because if we look deep in ourselves, we can see that we have been going through changes and have been adopting it since we came out to this world. Everyday we have changes in our physical appearance, but we never freak out. So why are we going to be afraid if we have to change job or change lifestyle. We, human, should be well verse about all this change thing. To be afraid is ok, but do not freak out. Follow water characteristic, it can flow anywhere and it can take up any form.
